One of the passions of the Association of Biblical Counselors is to expose people around the world to the transforming Gospel of Jesus Christ.  One means by which we seek to accomplish this goal is through our biblical counseling training.  Our hope is that in attending these courses, students will not only learn more about the Gospel for their own lives, but that they will be inspired by Scripture to fulfill Jesus' call to "make disciples" of others in their communities.  This is essentially the very essence of biblical counseling.

Book of the Month: Give Them Grace, by Elyse Fitzpatrick and Jessica Thompson

Posted on 6/1/2011

One of the driving convictions of the Association of Biblical Counselors is to promote quality resources that reflect sound theology.  In an effort to follow this conviction, our staff has created a feature on the new ABC site that is intended to keep members and visitors up to date on the latest books and materials in biblical counseling.  The feature will always be highlighted on the home page as the fourth item in the large box at the top of the site.  This month, we are excited to highlight as our “Book of the Month” the exceptional work by the mother/daughter team of Elyse Fitzpatrick and Jessica Thompson entitled, Give Them Grace.   This book is a “must read” for parents and families who have an earnest desire to raise their children with the rich and eternal truths of the Gospel of Christ while protecting them from deadly snares of legalism so often found in Christian homes.

The Association of Biblical Counselors Featured by the Biblical Counseling Coalition

Last year, Jeremy Lelek, Paul Tripp, John Henderson, Bob Kellemen, and Brad Hambrick (all staff of the Association of Biblical Counselors) gathered in Chicago with others who have committed their lives to service in biblical counseling.  The meeting was called to discuss the potential formation of a new coalition.  What that day was the vision of just a few men would hopefully materialize into a viable resource designed to effectively benefit the needs and mission of the local Church.
