Please read the following to learn more about our assessments and how they can be used.
PURPOSE: These assessments were written to help pastors, lay leaders, cell groupleaders, mission agencies, counselors, and every believer do an effective job ofcounseling the Word. They are written from a Biblical perspective. They are meant to provide information about a person, reveal attitudes, highlight behaviors and get beyond the surface of a person’s problems to the heart of the matter.
EASE OF USE: We intend for these tools to be used everyday by a wide range of people, so we have written them to be very user friendly. They are not intended to trick anybody. There is no total score, only individual responses to each question. Simply put, 1’s are bad 10’s are good. This means that you can look over any assessment at a glance. For example, if you are looking at a teen assessment and as you scan the page you mostly see 8-10’s but then you see a 1, you want to check this question. Responses to questions are opportunities to initiate discussions about various issues. CROSS REFERENCING: Many of the assessments can be taken on another person. For example, the husband could take the husband assessment on himself and his wife could also complete one on how she sees him. Answers are then compared and discussed. CREATIVE USES: Administer them to people you are counseling. Take them on yourself. Use particular assessments when you are considering someone for a ministry position. Administer them when teaching a particular subject in your small group. Use them to generate discussion in your family or group. USAGE POLICY: These resources are for use by current Association of Biblical Counselors members only. They may not be posted on a website, sold, altered, or reproduced. We discourage photocopying because we want to maintain the quality look of the materials. Photocopying may be more convenient than printing for larger groups and is acceptable if a high quality is maintained.
