Our Vision
Cultivating Community:
The BCN is dedicated to a model of ministry that fosters a community effort in biblical soul care. Paul makes it very clear that God's body is made up of diverse members each designed to function in harmony for the glory of God and for the good of the saints (1 Corinthians 12). The aim of the BCN is to cultivate such community within the local church as well as the professional community.
Connecting The Community:
The BCN is designed for connection in three ways: (1) to connect the local community to a local church. When people in the local community are in dire need, we hope to equip churches so that they are prepared to meet such needs with effective, Gospel-centered biblical care. It is our aim to esteem the church in a prominent position within the community as a viable and trustworthy place for deep spiritual, emotional, and relational ministry. (2) BCN also seeks to connect local churches with one another as a means of referral, networking, and support. The network will connect churches that share a passionate vision for biblical soul care so that by means of networking and referral, churches in varying geographical locations may point to one another as safe harbors of ministry while those in need may locate churches and counselors around the world who offer rich biblical care. (3) Whereas many churches may not have the resources to cultivate an expansive counseling ministry or some may feel overwhelmed by the complexity of certain issues/situations, the BCN also seeks to connect the church to professionals in the field of counseling who embrace and practice sound biblical methods in their practices.
Creating Synthesis:
The BCN is also designed to help professionals in the counseling community synthesize their efforts of counseling with the local body and vice versa. Our vision is to see pastors, church members, and professionals all working in concert with the same philosophy of biblical soul care in a unified effort to most effectively minister to those in need.
